A Morning with Boppa!

The first grade classes enjoyed a wonderful morning with Boppa and his helpers. Boppa, the grandfather of two of our children, came to class to share some of the wonders of Santa, his reindeer and his elves. The children loved listening to him – just look at their faces! Afterward, Boppa’s helpers made reindeer dust with our children. Don’t forget to sprinkle that dust on the lawn Christmas Eve!

The Henry Ford!

What a day it was!!! We had a wonderful time on our field trip to the Henry Ford Museum. I must say, the children enjoyed the Lego Castle most of all! They could have built and played in there forever. But...they also got to see Santa and mail the letters they wrote in class. They enjoyed making paper airplanes near the aviation exhibit, climbing aboard the famous "Rosa Parks Bus", looking at the famous Kennedy car, and walking among the gigantic trains. Thank you to all our chaperones for joining us on this trip!

What a fun day it was today. We learned about St. Nicholas today. The children put a shoe in the hall and St. Nicholas' helpers put a candy cane in each shoe. The first graders made a bishop's miter to wear during the day. The kids loved wearing their pj's today too. Thank you for supporting the Make a Wish fundraiser. Next Thursday we go to the Henry Ford Museum. We will see Santa and all the fun Lego displays. The children used what they have learned about writing a friendly letter. Each one wrote a letter to Santa. We will deliver them to Santa when we visit the museum. Keep practicing those double addition math facts!!!
