Catholic Schools Are A+

With this theme in mind, the first graders began the busy month of January. We are getting ready for our fun filled Catholic Schools Week. It is an opportunity for us to learn about famous Americans who also attended Catholic schools. It is a chance for us to thank our parents for choosing a Catholic education for us. We truly can be A+ with the excellent education that St. Pius provides.

This month the students will also be doing some "Souper Reading" for our winter book report project. We will the story Stone Soup and then the children will write a book report on a story of their choice on a soup can template. What future famous American will you be? That is the question the children will be answering in our upcoming Social Studies unit on "Work." Each student will be given a bear to dress in the appropriate outfit for their chosen career. They will also write sentences about their future job.

Happy New Year!
